Capital Investments

Developing and executing strategies for the aggregates and construction materials industries

  1. Growth Capital

Erect a new plant. Increase production capacity. Acquire additional reserves. Just a few examples of the way growth capital can be put to work. Our financial partners, both debt and equity, have quickly and repeatedly funded these types of expansions. If you’re considering such an expansion, we can help.

  2. Reserves Financing

In 2013, Vulcan Materials Company sold 255M tons of reserves to Plum Creek Timber Company for $154M, and simultaneously entered into a royalty lease agreement enabling the continued mining of those reserves. Vulcan used the transaction proceeds to fund growth investments in its aggregates business. Vulcan’s share price has more than tripled since then.

Inlet Capital Group is presently working with investors that are actively seeking to acquire reserves in similar fashion, but also works with lenders that provide loans collateralized by the intrinsic value of the reserves. Both of these approaches allow you to monetize some of the value you’ve created, without giving up control of your business. If that sounds appealing, contact us for more information.

  3. Partner Buyouts

No matter how successful the business, partners won’t agree on everything. And divergent preferences on risk, growth, re-investment, and capital structure eventually surface in all partnerships. While some tension on these matters can help the business make sound decisions, too much tension can cripple it. That’s where partner buyout strategies become necessary.

Attracting a relatively small universe of investors, partner buyouts can be difficult to execute. But not impossible. We work closely with a multitude of debt and equity investors that can facilitate these transactions in a timely manner. If your partners no longer see eye-to-eye, and it’s causing the business to stagnate, we can help.
